MANUELA AND SALVATORE

Palazzo Frangipane is a story of love, dreams and travel.

It was born from the common dream of the owners, Manuela and Salvatore, to change their life and from their certainty that the right place would be the place where they spent together the summers of recent years after they met: Salento.

The journey, however, starts from far further away: the idea of the name of their Palace was born in Bali, their second love after Salento. They hold in their hearts the flower and the scent of Frangipani plant and now you can find it in their garden.

The Palace is located in Salve, in via Marsini 9, a short walk from Piazza Concordia, where there is the majestic Mother Church of San Nicola Magno and Palazzo Ramirez, today seat of the Municipal Library. Owned by the Romano Family for generations, the palace dates back to the 18th century and has been lived by the family for several generations.

When Manuela and Salvatore saw the Palace for the first time at sunset on a December evening, they had no doubt that this would be their destination, indeed their restart.

Hence the idea of creating a charming dwelling bringing together ideas, forces and energies in a common project.
Salvatore is a chef of long experience abroad and, back in his Bolzano, opened two restaurants. Manuela owned a boutique of footwear and accessories from prestigious brands in Merano.

Theirs, therefore, is a history of art, style, elegance and creativity. Theirs is an innate passion for hospitality and guests care. They began their journey in November 2019, planning the restoration of the palace, maintaining as much as possible its originality and recovering cement or mosaic floors, as well as fixtures, doors, windows or special lamps, but bringing a touch of modernity in the furnishings and comfort for their guests.

They stopped in March 2020 because of the pandemic and the quarantine forces them to new reflections. But these reflections bring only one certainty: their dream, their Palace is there, waiting for them, and they can’t wait to open its doors.
